Robert and Gannie — your hosts in the Kleinwalsertal

We are Robert Slachta and Gertrud Gmeiner – but everyone calls me Gannie.

I took over the house from my parents in 2015 and have kept renovating it over the years. We both work full-time, but we run the rental with real passion and tend to see our guests as friends. We're happy to be on hand for any questions — or the odd drink together.

We also get plenty of help from our four-legged and feathered housemates: our dog Nabu and our hens, who supply us with fresh eggs every day.

We very much look forward to welcoming you to our home and giving you a special time under our roof.

About the Walser house

Our house "Gondamaika" – a history since the 17th century

The name comes from the Walser dialect and means "at the daughter of Gondula's place" – a typical way in the Kleinwalsertal of naming houses after their former occupants.

My father took it over in the 1960s and effectively rebuilt it from scratch – from the walls right through to the fittings and technology.

Despite all the changes, a few original parts of the house have survived to this day. They tell of times past and give our Walser house its special character – a blend of history, tradition and the way life was lived, then and now.
